Objectives:
To improve academic reading skills and encourage students to increase their awareness of global issues today through discussion,
Form: Lectures, discussions, presentations, quizzes, research paper
Preparation:
Class Work: Students will be asked to read about 20 pages per week and complete worksheets to take part in discussion. They will take 3 quizzes to assess their understanding of the assigned readings before the final quiz. The representative of the groups is required to present their conclusion of what they discussed in every class.
Research Paper:
In order to pass the course, students must submit a 5-page research paper. It is completed in 3 stages: outline and work cited; the first draft and the final draft. If students do not turn in the paper, they can not pass the course.
